“The Winooski City Council has agreed to work with developers Redstone/Youkel to build on two downtown Winooski lots that were to have housed condominiums. The condominiums were never built due to a soft housing market, the original developer said.
This month, the council heard two development proposals for the eastern end of the city’s downtown.
One proposal, from Charlotte-based Grand Senior Living, would bring a 175-unit senior living complex to the site. Some of the units would be for seniors living independently, while others would house people who want assisted living arrangements. Some other units would house elders with memory loss and dementia.
The plan offered by Doug Nedde of Redstone Commercial Group and architect Alain Youkel would bring high-end rental units and a midrise building with condominiums or a hotel….”
